Professional opinion of Kirker primer
By Joseph Ottati on Sep 19, 2020
I used Kirker perfect prime (grey) Used perfect prime on a repair made to a Yukon XL quarter panel. I used a Devilbis finishline primer gun with 2.0 tip. The results: the tip was almost not enough. This stuff is thick. A 1.8 tip may require reducing the primer. Don't try a smaller tip then 1.8. I recomend 2.0 or larger. This stuff is definitely high solids, almost no shrinkage when covering the body filler ( sanded with 36 grit then 80 grit and finished with 180 grit). It flashes very quick, and given how thick it is, it is prone to solvent pop. It sands easy with wet sanding or dry sanding or even using a DA sander. I used urethane reducer with a 4:1:2 reduction as a form of sealer, and it worked perfect. Paint covered it easy. I recomend this for the moderately experienced to advanced. It maybe tricky for a novice to use. A friendly warning: if you like your spray gun, clean it immediately after use. This stuff flashes very fast. It is highly possible this product could lock up a gun in a very short time.

SUPER THICK
By Mike on Apr 2, 2021
I wish I would've ordered the reducer to use with it. I sprayed it for the first time with a 1.8 tip. And it's so thick it barely wanted to come out. And looked super rough. I had to crank the pressure up higher than normal and move very slow to get any kind of decent coverage. Tech sheets say to spray with a 1.4-1.6 no way. I ordered the medium reducer and will spray with a 2.0 from now on. I guess it should build decent but none of that matters if you can't get it out of the gun. Kinda disappointing
